Many people nowadays, who have missing teeth in one or both jaws in the mouth. The dentures are not always so easy to use and wear. Occasionally they wear out when you try to eat or speak. It usually happens in the lower denture, which can easily become dislodged by the tongue. Here are the different types of dentures used today:

 Complete denture

Complete denture- is restored denture placed in edentulous mouth of the patient. Commonly after the teeth are removed, the bone that supports the teeth starts to resorb and shrink. Frequently this leaves little structure for a denture to rest on, often making the dentures movable and make the denture difficult to wear.

Partial denture

It is used when a patient still has their natural teeth, for example when one or more teeth remain in the upper and lower jaw. There is a pink-colored base that is attached to a metal part. They are fitting and removable, which means you can take them out every time you require to. Partials aid to prevent the other teeth from moving, and are made from all-acrylic or acrylic

It can be done for considerably cheaper than a comparable fixed restoration with a metal framework that bolts straight into the implants, or is cemented to the implant abutments. It also adds a layer of significantly greater technical knowledge necessary for successful case completion.

Immediate dentures

Immediate dentures- (also called as temporary dentures) are actually made prior to the natural teeth are extracted.  The patient comes into the dental office with natural teeth, and comes out with false teeth already. The immediate denture requires only one or two preliminary appointments prior to the denture installation date. The teeth are extracted, and a prefabricated denture is inserted directly over the bleeding sockets.  The patient is still numb because of tooth extractions, and the immediate denture is inserted.  The denture performs like a band aid and reduces its pain.

The soft liner is compounded dental plastic wherein it is intended to create your dentures more efficient and comfortable in spite of the some tissue irregularities that are still present in the patient’s mouth.

Standard Dentures

Standard Dentures- are prepared for people who are already lost all their teeth. It usually takes four or at times more schedule to make a set of standard dentures. The first appointment normally consists of an oral examination, sometimes X-Rays (To assure that there are no teeth present underneath the bone), and a set of preliminary and final impressions of the upper and lower jaws. These impressions are poured with plaster during preliminary and Die or cast stone during the final impression to form an accurate model of the outline of the edentulous ridges. Other parameters that are needed are the shade, size and shape of the teeth that will be placed on the new dentures.

Overdentures are defined as any removable tooth substitute device that is placed over existing teeth, replacing these teeth with artificial teeth.  Before to modern dentistry, overdentures are nearly the common tooth replacement device since surgical removal of teeth was throbbing, dangerous, and usually unworkable without modern anesthetics. During those days, the dentures were prepared to fit over to the broken teeth.

It allows a tooth to be replaced without harmful to the adjacent teeth. This provisional prosthesis gives a conventional, yet often esthetic solution while replacement of one, or several teeth.

Premier Resin Set

Using an extremely hard resin tooth on a very strong acrylic base. It is known as natural in appearance due to the many layer varieties of color. Resin are being use to create each tooth and have brilliant stain resistance. In general, this quality of denture requires to be replaced due to your gums and bone resorbing its shape and form rather than the teeth wearing down.

It is also extremely hard porcelain front teeth and the strongest resin back teeth with its strong acrylic base. It is natural looking because of the porcelain front teeth being the naturally match to the appearance of natural tooth present in the patient.

Injection Moulded Bases

This is the most toughest and stable plastic bases. The dentures used as injection moulded, wherein it decreases the possibility of distortion in the processing of your dentures creating a flawless perfect fitting and virtually clinically unbreakable set of teeth.

Standard acrylic dentures

Standard acrylic denturesare easier and affordable to make by the dental technician.  They may damage the gums around natural teeth if the design is not appropriate and if not clean properly.

Metal frame dentures

It is known to have a better strength due to its rigidity. They are usually more hygienic and more acceptable by the patient because they do not need to cover as much of the mouth.  But it is more expensive to make than the plastic dentures.

Flexible plastic dentures

this type of denture is known from its flexibility and lightness in the mouth.  There is no metal frame present; the fabrication and try-in processes are simplified. That’s why patient prefers to used this that other type of denture than other rigid denture.

Implant Stabilized dentures

it is used secured by implants to stabilized the denture of the patient and it does not press down on your bone tissue in a critical way, and it will remain in its original position as you eat, speak and smile without the denture moving or wearing out. It has a very constructive impact on quality of life.
